Become a Powerful Women Event Host

There is a reason why PW is so successful in it's events, it is the consistency of the space and the awareness of the host.

I have extremely high expectations of anyone who becomes a PW Host, with good reason but the expectations are not impossible to reach.

To be a PW Host I ask you to be mindful of the people who are attending the events. If someone seems shy, or has come by themselves, I expect the host to help introduce them to others, engage them in conversation.

Listen. It is amazing how many people have a story to tell, something interesting about them that will help you to network them to someone else.

As an event host I expect you to be available and approachable to everyone - not just the people you know, or the girl who has caught your eye. Cliques are not in the same sentence as Powerful Women!

I will not tolerate any PW Host to be a conduit or a breeder of gossip, rumors or any of those social weapons as discussed in the newsletter, at an event. (I'd like to say ever, but I can only have this expectation at an event I suppose)

Have fun. I want the people hosting the events to see it as an opportunity to meet new people, have a lot of fun, and even deepen the relationships they have with those around them.

It may seem like high expectations but basically it's just common sense, human decency and kindness at the core.

So when you are attending a PW event, you know there is great care and thought that goes into the people behind the scenes and in front of the scenes.

Having said all of that, if you would like to host an event, email me! If I have asked you to host an event, please know it is because I already see all those qualities in you.

If you have something you would like posted, you must email it to me in already written so I can copy and paste it. Postings must be 100 words or less and must include contact information.

Pet Helpers Day Planner

We all have a pet (or four) that we just KNOW is the cutest thing on four legs.  Now you can share your favorite photo of your pooch or pussycat with the rest of us pet lovers AND help Charleston's poor homeless pets as well.

Pet Helpers is currently putting together our first ever weekly day planner for 2009 which will be sold for $25. in local boutiques as well as at the new shelter.  For only $150. (which includes a complimentary copy of the planner) your Fido or Fluffy can be the star of his/her very own page.
The photo can be your pet or pets alone, with you, with your child...whatever suits your fancy.  You can even include your own caption, quote or dedication.
Don't have a photo that shows just how adorable your baby is? No problem.  We have professional photographers standing by to take that special photo for you for you.

The pages are going fast, and space is closing on June 1st. Please open the attached sign up sheet for all of the details. You can fill it out on-line or print and mail it in. Photos can be submitted digitally or by mail as well.

I hope to see all of your adorable babies in this year's day planner. And please feel free to forward this info to all of your pals with pets. Pet Helpers does such incredible work for our abandoned and abused animals.  Please show your support by being a part of this new project!
